Robert Hansen Landscaping has cared for our yard –trees, shrubs and lawn- for the past three years and we are very satisfied with their expertise in all areas of landscaping. We asked Robert Hansen Landscaping, LLC to design a pathway from the side of our home to a new patio and gazebo area for the backyard, as well as leveling off the entire backyard which had a pronounced slope. After handing them a poorly drawn idea of what we had in mind, and several material ideas which we had discovered from visiting stone and rock businesses, they came back to us with a fully developed concept. Their recommendations for the site included a new material for the walkway and patio which maintained our aesthetic vision while reducing the cost of the project with improved durability.

I was cautioned that the property would look at times like a war zone with large equipment and piles of materials while they worked, but when they were done it would be a paradise. I experienced exactly what they promised. During the construction, the team worked every day (weather permitting) from early in the morning to late afternoon with a short break for lunch. My comments and questions during the project were always met with respectful answers. If something could be done, it was, even if it meant altering their plans. If there was a reason why my idea might not be the best way to proceed, I was explained why that might be. During this process, I always felt as if they had my best interest in mind and never felt that any idea was impossible. I truly felt like a partner in the development and evolution at every stage.

Once completed, the grounds were not returned to the condition they were in prior to the beginning of the project, but instead to a revitalized oasis which has provided endless days of enjoyment, peaceful evenings, and pride.

The Hansen "family" have cared for my trees, shrubs and plant borders for many years. Happy Hemlocks and Hornbeams, a beautiful Birch, a magnificent Maple, and delightful Dogwoods have been sprayed and fertilized in a timely, professional manner. I have known Bob Hansen for more than a decade, spending most summers sharing our common dock space in Stratford CT.

As a professional building / remodeling contractor, we use a wide spectrum of subcontractors. Normally, we no not like to mix business with personal friends for a variety of reasons, however, since we started doing business with Bob and his firm approx six (6) years ago on all of our professional projects, we have never looked back. Bob Hansen's firm has been instrumental in designing and implementing new landscape layouts, and walkways at our personal home as well. His pricing structure is always detailed, very transparent, with a fair and competitive pricing structure.

In today's competitive world, and in an environment where there are so many requirements for proper licensing and registrations, Hansen Landscaping always maintains the proper up to date paperwork for all categories of work they perform. Essentially, Hansen Landscaping is our one stop total landscaping firm, meeting all of our commercial and residential needs from licensed Arborists, to proper supervisory licensed lawn care services. They carry all of the Ct State required liability and workers comp. insurance as well, which is very important to contractors and homeowners alike.

The staff at Hansen Landscaping is clearly far and beyond other firms in their field. All of their field personal are always in clean and respectable uniforms, they are exceptionally polite, and quite accommodating, ensuring that your landscape needs are performed with only perfection in mind.

All of the equipment we have been exposed to on a variety of projects where we have hired Bob Hansen is well taken care of. The operators and field supervisors he uses are not fly by night, they are direct employees and always appear to be very well trained and skilled at the tasks they perform. When a schedule is given for any particular job, whether it is a major landscape project, or a simple weekly grass cutting, the schedule is maintained. You never have to call and ask "where are the men". Communication skills applied by Bob and his supervisors are excellent - there is No Chasing required!

Lastly, and probably one of the most important things important to me as a business owner, is that Hansen Landscaping is a family owned enterprise. The Hansen's; from Bob's brother to his sons, really have their finger on the pulse of Customer Service. The Hansen boys (men), who fulfill very different roles in the business, clearly wish to carry on the firms presence into the future. To watch a large family work so well together is really quite refreshing. As a result of good management and leadership from the top, the reliability of the work Hansen Landscaping performs is second to none.
